Cache Valley

The girls & I went to Logan this weekend to visit Margo's fam. They are always so nice to us. The last few years we have celebrated the 4th of July with them, lucky us!
Any way, I needed a few things for my holiday candy making and Logan has a great shop. Also Margo knows a great place to get your hair done. Margo was kind enough to get us appts. The girls each have cute & managable little bobs! I have a trim and a bit of swooping bangs, kinda. Anyway not the point! This is the moment my Cache Valley experience really began!!! After my hair has been trimed and shaped or whatever they do and it is dry the really nice stylist starts ratting my hair! Yes you read that correctly I had my hair ratted and I paid for it! As Margo can attest my hair was high and full of "body." HUH, what does that even mean? I also was educated in the correct way to rat the hair as well as the appropriate side of the comb for different levels of again "body." Just imagine as not photos were taken for evidence.
Later that evening we had the chance to attend a live nativity. Right off I knew I was not in Kansas anymore, my little honda was a one of a kind among the BIG truck & mini van scene I had come upon. Though those vehicles were more appropriate to the off road parking in a field we experienced.
The nativity was really well done complete with singing angels, head butting goats, and a bucking camel. But my favorite line came as the thanks were given to all who participated..."and we'd like to thank the bishop for accomidating us in his barn." Not to take away from the moment of gratitude, but barns usually do not fall into the accomidations category. It was the nativity though.
As I mean no offense to the Cache Valley natives whom I love, I would just like to say we had a great time and enjoyed ourselves quite a bit in your part of the world! And all these Cache Valley experiences could well have happened in my home town of Shelley(but they didn't) Occasionally it is nice to have the home town experience again!
And I can't get the spacing to show up correctly on the blog, so chalk that up to a Shelley High moment

Is it still all about the big hair in Cache Valley? It's been 10 years since I lived there, but I guess some things don't change! Oh, and Margo had pics of your girls hair on her blog..you need to keep up! :)

I do hope you'll rat your hair for me next time you see me as I am pretty cool, and you really should look your best for me. I'm waiting anxiously for it.
I'm also waiting anxiously for February, because Nick gave me permission!!!

Just in defense of Cache Valley, it wasn't quite that bad, AND she had her hair combed down before she got in the car! Thanks for coming and visiting!
