This really happened. I am completely at fault for not having my camera with me to show you the proof, but tears of joy came to my eyes at the sight before me!
This first half my brothers will really enjoy!
Because we are so hot here in PR we try to find things to keep us cool during the day. The swimming pool is an everyday must. However thursday I needed something more so I decided to teach the girls the art of window shopping. (The free air conditioning was just a bonus!) The girls both caught on rather quickly, looking & pointing out all the really cool things available was going great. We were at a mall close to our home. The malls here are very similar to the ones in the states with a few minor adjustments. For example rather than a Dillards or JC Penney at the ends they have K-mart, Best Buy, and Walgreens. It all works out rather well here. As we entered K-mart to continure to browse the most fantastic thing was happening! In the lobby area where you pick up your shopping cart people were shaving their heads. I know gross! In a public shopping area, hair on the floor, food counter too close for my comfort. Deep breath! I notice the school supplies right behind the hair shaving so I head that direction for an ellusive notebook for Heather. I realized that there was much more to shaving heads. They were shaving designs into the sides. Now I remember when that was cool in high school, so giggle giggle for me and to each their own. I now was directly behind one of the guys getting his hair done and BAM a special treat for me! This fella had a braided rats tail all the way down his back! Oh yes my friends all the way to his bootie! I must have looked like a kid @ Christmas. This made my heart so happy. A few small tears of joy came to my eyes. I know I am lame, but come on this was great!
Know that I have learned my lesson & carry my camera in my purse from now on!
And one more thing, Thank you Aunts Holly, Becky, & Steph!
The girls & I were making browines this afternoon. As we are pouring the batter into the pan Heather asks if she can lick the spoons. I reply there is raw egg in the batter. Both girls reply "We like raw egg!" WHAT, are you kidding me! The girls proceed to let me know that their aunts have taught them how yummy it is. If I hadn't witnessed Holly doing just this I may not have believed them. So yeah now my kids can write in their year book that "we like raw eggs!" Isn't family the best! We think so!

You never know when the time will be right for mullet hunting...they are very elusive so one must be prepared at all times!!!
Chad
awesome! too bad you didn't have your camera! I love you guys!
I had a roommate in college that had a thin braided rat tail that went all the way down to her butt! The rest of her hair was super short, like Meg Ryan short. Definately to each his/her own.
Woh Woh Woh, I do not eat, nor do I support eating raw egg.
And the rat tails are spectacular, why don't you go that rat? Having no hair would definitely cool you down a bit!
Ok ok. I take full credit for the Raw Egg thing. I mean, come on! Its not like you can taste them! And really, as long as the eggs are semi fresh, your risk for salmonella is relatively low. People eat raw eggs all the time right from the shell to their mouth. Super duper protein boost! Don't be scared. You know, you could just omit the eggs, half the recipe and eat the dough...keep a little suppin-suppin in the fridge for when that sweet tooth hits. :)
This is a lesson in peer pressure, really. I'm the bad influence on your girls. Its gotta come from somewhere, right?
Man I miss you girls! Love you!
When I lived in Saudi, there was this kid, Jason Ott who had double jointed elbows, which was really creepy...but on top of that, he had a rat tail to the middle of his back. He was SO annoying! Everyone picked on him, including my brothers. One night, my brother Brendon and his friend sneaked (yes, that is the correct usage of that word) into Jason's house, into his room and cut his rat tail off! Can you believe it?! It was well deserved and the whole complex rejoiced!
Alicia's checklist for leaving the house:
Sunny's, check.
Water, check.
Wallet, check.
Aly and Heather, check
CAMERA!!!, check!
Did you ever figure out why they were shaving heads at K-mart? Random.
