School again already!!!

Wednesday August 17th the girls started school again. This summer has flown by! We have played hard, swam ourselves silly, and mastered the art of sleeping in! Both girls enjoyed days of sleeping until 10am! Yay for them!!! But the day had to come when at 7am the alarm would sound, lunches would need to be made, back packs loaded, and teeth brushed before 8am.

Yet again the girls are starting at another new school. They are such good sports being the new kid again!!! This the the 5th elementary school for the girls.

Aly is in 5th grade. Her teacher is Mrs. Wright and her friend Allison is in her class. Things are all right in this little ladies life!
Heather is in 3rd grade. Her teacher is Mrs. Wall and she is feeling very nervous being the new kid again and not knowing anyone in her class. And YES, I am still that mom who sheds a tear as she leaves her kids at school the first day.
My babies are so grown up!
I just love these two girls!
After school the girls had some friends over for a 1st day of school pool party. The girls are prepping for a race.
Hana & Aly
Aly, Janae, & Gabby
Aly & Allison
Marissa & Heather
I picked Heather up 1st and asked her how her day went. She replied "THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!" Halleluiah! What a relief! I love that she still wears her emotions on her sleeve. Maybe she always will. Then we go to Aly's class and the first thing she says to me is "MOM! That is our car that is parked illegally that they announced over the intercom!" I try to act like I don't know what she is talking about and say maybe. She says I have our license plate memorized! That is our car WHERE DID YOU PARK??? Ok whatever! I parked illegally, I didn't know it at the time though! And when they announced the description & plate # I knew it was my car too. But really she called me out in front of all the other parents and hey, I am new on campus too!!! Everyone was parking there this morning 20 cars deep! Anyway, we make it to the car and the principal is waiting to chat with me. He is a very nice man but really, this is the impression I am leaving with him... NICE! I guess awkward is not a stage with me! And yes when I looked I did see the clearly posted sign NO PARKING! Whatever
Happy 1st day of school!!!

And YES, I am still that mom who sheds a tear or 2 as she leaves her kids at school the first day.

A chat's much better than a ticket, right?
You're girls are adorable! Why the change of schools? Have you just recently moved?

They are too grown up! They both look awesome in their back-to-school looks. And you rock my world. If you came to my house, I would let you illegally park!
