December happenings

December was busy & great!  We kicked off the month at the primary Christmas breakfast with the 3 wisemen.  Mike dressed up and passed out gold coins to the kids.  The activity was dressing up like the the shepherds or other nativity characters and taking pictures.
This was our best attempt at normal.
Heather & Aly at the lighting of the Rocklin Christmas tree... Yep our city has one, who knew!!!
Decorating our tree!  Heather's turn to place the star.
And in case you haven't heard Mike is in a band!!!  They call themselves the 302's.  I guess it is some paper work they do all the time at work.  The night before the "gig" Mike came to me looking for a little support, he was nervous.  I replied "what do you have to be nervous about???  If you guys are completely awful you will never hear the end of it, it will follow you where ever we go, and everyone has digital recording devices strapped to there hips.  What is to be nervous about?" :)  And truthfully I couldn't tell him that the band sounded great because I had never heard them.  sigh...  However, The 302's were awesome!!!  Not awesome enough to go back on my NO MORE BAND PRACTICE till June statement, but still very happy for Mike's success as a lead singer/guitarist!

The 6th grade enjoyed their Christmas luncheon.  Everyone wore there Sunday best & the boys even pulled out the chairs for the girls.
Bella, Blythe, & Aly
The day after the 6th grade luncheon was ugly sweater day for the white elephant gift exchange.  I didn't know about the ugly sweater thing and was really questioning Aly's vest choice in my mind!  Then her friends mom said "wow Aly, that vest is soooo UGLY!"  I was a little surprise at how harsh the mom had been.  About 10 minutes later I noticed awful sweaters and heard some kids talking about the best ugly sweaters.  I started laughing and asked Aly if there was a theme for the dress, she laughed and said "Mom do you think I would wear this for real???  Thank heavens that Aly knows what exactly is in the costume box!
Heather's class was making ginger bread houses.  Unfortunately I showed up to take Heather to the Orthodontist.  Ms Oxenham turned to Heather and said "Heather, all this time I thought your Mom was so cool, I guess not!"  Ouch!  Who knew that 6 weeks after setting an appointment it would be the class Christmas party!!!

Happy December!!!
