Treasure

This summer we planned a trip to Idaho to enjoy the first ever Martineau sibling reunion.
I am extremely grateful that we started our trip early so we could see Grammy.  We knew this would be our last opportunity to visit her.
For as long as I can remember every time I saw my Grandma she would give me a hug, a kiss on the cheek, and tell me she loved me.  This was her hello and then again it was her goodbye.  While visiting, I took the opportunity to read to her from one of my favorite books, set in the genre of her childhood and enjoyed hearing her laugh.  Mike brought his guitar and the 5 of us sang songs like You are my Sunshine & She'll be comin round the mountain.  The few days we had with her were very sweet.  Walking away was rough.
Grammy passed away a few weeks after we were able to see her.
Grammy was a treasure.  She loved Mike from the moment she met him.  When she met my babies, oh how she adored them.  Her awe for her great grand children was constant.  Each time I called her she was so excited to hear all the thing the girls were accomplishing.  Grammy always asked for pictures to be sent and called to tell me how beautiful my girls were when pictures arrived.  I am grateful that since the girls were little I made a point to take pictures with Grammy when we came to town.  Here are a few snap shots from the last time we saw Grammy.  To have her in our life has been a blessing.

Thanks for making me cry today. :) Love you and I'm glad we got to share a few hours with her together.
