Fourteen!!!

Hard to believe Aly is 14.  This year Aly wanted a scavenger hunt at the mall.  So I came up with ridiculous things for the girls to do like play duck duck goose,  get a picture with all the girls in 1 bathroom stall, take a picture with a stranger, picture on escalator, picture with a mall cop etc... you get the idea.  As we arrived we walked right into the area of the mall with the escalators, Fantastic!  The girls are ready to get this list completed.  They jump on the elevator and head up. I was having trouble with my camera so the girls went up the escalator and then down again.  I was still having trouble with the camera so I went down the escalator and then up again with the girls trying to get a picture.  Finally I got a picture, not a good picture but it was time to move on.  The girls were really into the list so next they sat down in the middle of the mall and played duck duck goose.  Just as the game was finishing a mall cop is walking in our direction.  I am thinking great!  One more thing for the girls to cross off the list.  The mall cop walks up to me and says are you with these girls?  Of course I am with these girls and so is my friend Chris who came to help me chaperone these ladies.  The cop straight faced says "you guys need to leave."  WHAT!!!!  I looked at him and replied you are kidding, right!  He said "No Mam.  You need to leave."  Their was no need for him to call me Mam!  I am not that old.  I was in a bit of shock.  "What?  Why do we need to leave, we just got here, we just came up the escalator right there."  He said "I know, you need to leave."  Now he was bugging me.  I replied again "Why do we need to leave?"  He said that one of the girls was sitting on the edge of the escalator as she rode up and down and it was dangerous and that we had to leave.  At this point I am freaking out in my mind.  What was I going to do with 7 teenagers for the next hour?  So in my nicest voice I said we were really sorry and we wouldn't touch the escalator again.  The man who was talking into the mall cops ear piece who was watching us in the camera right above us asked if there were any chaperones.  Uh yes!  These ladies have 2 chaperones standing right here.  Then he said we could stay if we behaved.  Holy Moly what a kill joy!!!!  He scared these girls to death.  Such a sullen party at the mall!!!  What a bummer!!!!!  We slowly marked items off the list but the joy was gone!

Janelle, Hailey, Maddy, Scarlette, Aly, & Aubrey
They all have purple eyeshadow on.
All the ladies in the bathroom stall, so funny!
Photo Op with strangers.  Such cute people!!!  They said they would be honored!
A hat for each of the ladies.
We wrapped things up with pizza and toe nail painting.  Aly gave each of the girls a new pair of flip flops to wear home so they wouldn't ruin their newly painted toes.
Aly has aged into Stake Dances!!!
Here she is ready for the New Year's Eve dance.  I am so not ready for this, but she is!
Aly & Scarlette
Seriously!!!!  I love modern technology!!!!
A young woman from our last ward text me this picture a few days after the dance.
She said it was Aly's first dance, so CUTE!!!!
Aly had already told me about the dance she said the guys name was Albert or Arnold.  I asked her if he was as cool as his name.  She just smiled and said YES!
For Aly's birthday Mike and I gave Aly new furniture and decorations for her room.  Here is Aly helping paint her room.  She chose gray walls and white furniture.  Such a classy choice!
Happy Birthday beautiful Aly!!  You are beautiful inside and out!  We love you!!!
