Hello! Saturday morning, we spent a few hours at the Old Desert Village. You can actually see the Village from our apartments...just 1/2 mile up the hill. We got there a little early and spent some time in the gift shop to pass the time. Once the parked opened, we marched up main street, stopping at each home and learning about pioneer life. We saw the old bank, shaving parlor, ZCMI building and the school house. Each home is staffed by volunteers who dress up for the part and tell about old life.
As we were walking in the park, we saw lots of the volunteers receiving their assignments for the day. Heather noticed even kids were dressed up and volunteering. She leaned over to us and said 'I want to dress up like a pioneer too!'. She was serious. It's even funnier when you know that Heather is our 'clothes' girl. She will change outfits about 6 times in a day.
With the admission, we received tickets for a wagon ride. The girls also got to pick their own pumpkin from the patch. Now have a few more to carve this week! Hope you are all well.
