The girls have long awaited for Halloween. Since we have lived here in the Village, we have a tradition of doing our trick-o-treat at the local Foothill Village shopping center. You can start early when it is still light, gets lots of candy and be done in about an hour. It seems to be a safe place for families with little ones. The girls joined a small group of our neighbors and had a great time.
Each time Heather and Aly were asked what they were going to be on Halloween, we heard a different answer. Heather ended up wearing 2 costumes in one night (a white pony and a pink witch). After her pony outfit at the shopping center, she changed to her pink witch for our apartment buildings. Alyson was a clown. Her favorite part was running from door to door and then giving dad the candy she didn't like.
Alyson had her first kindergarten field trip this week to Wheeler Farm. I took the time off work and was a driver. Heather tagged along and we all had a great time. We saw rabbits, horses, bulls, pigs, chickens and ducks. We took about an hour to browse the different buildings and talk about farming and how life was 100 years ago. Heather loved chasing around with the big kids...the multi-level tree house was the highlight for all. It turns out that Alyson's teacher is the mother of a missionary I served with in Argentina...small world.
Take care and we hope you have a great week.
