February 17th we had the opportunity remember & honor a very special girl. Heidi passed away last March. Heidi was completely healthy and on her way to BYU Hawaii on a cross country scholarship. Heidi developed a blot clot and passed away. Heidi's unbelievably strong family decided to host a 5k in remembrance of Heidi and to raise money for cross country scholarships. It was a huge success! In the initial planning stages we hoped for a hundred runners. But on race day we were thrilled when we had over 800 runners for the 5k and the 1 mile fun run!!!
The theme for the race was based on a song by Sara Bareilles called Chasing the Sun. It was the perfect theme and a beautiful song.

Prayer on the front page!!! How awesome it was that Heidi's Dad saying a prayer on the runners made the front page of the Placer Herald!!!
The 302's rocked the finish line! Amazing as always!

Paige was so sweet to give everyone who helped put the race together a beautiful necklace in remembrance of Heidi and the run.
The Greenwood's are an incredible family and Paige is such a dear friend. We are blessed to have them in our lives. The race was not only a fun & energetic place to be, but also such a special spirit was present. It was joyful to be there.
